When you do a PhD you have to concentrate on a really small area of science because at the end you have to write a thesis (a book) on it and it wouldn’t make a very good story if you did a little bit of this and a little bit of that!
We get to hear about what everybody else in the department is doing once a week when people give talks and I really enjoy hearing about other things and often get research-jealousy – their research always sounds much more interesting than mine!
When I finish my PhD I’d like to try doing something else to have a bit of a change because so many things are really interesting!
