I would like to think that the bands I listen to don’t use auto tune. Music should really be about how something sounds, not how the singer looks. Sadly this isn’t how it always works and some record companies prefer to find people they think are attractive or that they can market despite how they sound and then use auto tune to make their voices sound better.

The music industry is driven by visual image rather than musical talent in a lot of cases. And it is these cases where they use auto tune. Really good musicians don’t need it!

If you heard me sing…you would beg for Auto Tune, but I am not a professional singer. I din’t think those who sell themselves as being singers should rely upon such tech. It is a bit like a scientist paying someone to think on their behalf…you would not have a job for long!

I really wish things like autotune and airbrushing didn’t exist because it means that a really unrealistic images of what you can be like are splashed across the media. All this does is makes everybody else really self conscious about the way they look and sound, which is sad.
