I don’t necessarily want to turn all children into scientists – we need artists and historians and bankers in the world too! I just want children to realise that doing science can be really interesting and isn’t always really hard. I want to help give them the tools to be able to question things. That’s all science is – questioning everything you see and not taking things for granted.
I think it’s really important for everybody to gain analytical skills for their adult life so that they can decide for themselves whether a science story in the media (lets take, for example, all the stories in the Daily Mail about what causes cancer) is really true, or whether it’s just a bit of a scare story!
