• Question: is a quazar around a black hole the brightest thing in the universe?

      Not something I know a lot about. You might get a good answer to this if you ask someone in the astronomy zone.

      Like Lynne, I don’t know much about quasars, hopefully someone in the astronomy zone could help.

      But did you know Diamond light source generates light that is 10 billion times brighter than our sun! I wonder if it is brighter than a quasar?

      I remember learning about quasars in my astronomy lessons when I did physics A level, but I don’t remember much about them! If you’re really interested in astronomy that’s great – I’ve got a friend who’s doing a PhD in astrophysics and the other week he got to go to the Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii to look at the sky – pretty cool!
