• Question: Where is the best place to find fossils in the UK and why?

      The Jurassic coast in south west England would be a good place. You can find information about loads of fossils found there on this website: http://jurassiccoast.org/fossilfinder

      I collected fossils along the South Coast as a child, especially in Charmouth where the Lower Jurassic rocks are sooooooo rich in marine fossils (and the occasional terrestrial dinosaur that ended-up in the drink 180 million years ago). However, I also love the Isle of Wight, where I have spent many years collecting the fossil remains of dinosaurs from the Lower Cretaceous Wessex Formation.
