We tend to find things cute or appealing when they are familiar or closely resemble ourselves, so we grow up seeing babies or fluffy cats and dogs and find them cute. On the other hand, things like spiders are unfamiliar and unpredictable so they tend to make us uncomfortable. Of course different people are exposed to different things and so feel differently about them. I have a friend who finds spiders and lizards cute! And I am scared of swans which most people don’t understand!
