Cancer isn’t just one disease – it’s lots of diseases that are caused by your cells mutating. I don’t think we’ll ever completely cure cancer – every time we cure one and people live for longer, I think another one will develop.
Therefore, I would definitely choose world hunger, so that everybody on the planet has a good quality of life!

Jenny has made good points and an excellent argument.

Like she said, cancer isn’t one disease but a collection of many that have came about because of mutations in rapidly reproducing cells. So it is unlikely we would ever find a single cure. Also, by their very nature of rapidly reproducing and developing mutations, cancer cells can develop resistance to the drugs we have to treat them, making a one time all purpose cure even more difficult.

I have no idea how I would go about ending world hunger though, maybe start by spending less money on weapons and spending more on helping those who need it?

I used to work in cancer research, have a reasonable understanding of how to develop treatments for it and it has effected members of my family so I will choose cancer.

We’re never going to find a way to live forever (and its probably a good thing we don’t all live forever and take up the entire earth!). But I think that some people’s lives could be a lot better if they didn’t have to go so short of food and this is something that we have the power to solve as we have enough resources on earth. So I choose to end world hunger.
